Understanding Radiant Cooling
The first contemporary systems has been adopted in the 1960s and 1970s, primarily in temperate climate regions like Europe, where architects and engineers sought to reduce energy consumption in heating and cooling.
Mechanism
Objects above absolute zero release radiation, leading to energy loss and cooling.
Materials
Highly emissive materials and coatings are ideal for enhancing radiative cooling by efficiently emitting infrared radiation.
Radiative Cooling Systems
Some advanced systems combine radiative cooling with other cooling methods to increase efficiency.
How FlatCool Technology Works
FlatCool radiant cooling utilizes the combination of radiant and natural convective heat transfer from occupants, equipment and fixtures inside the indoor space to create a cooled environment.
FlatCool System can be switched to heating mode by circulating warm water instead of chilled water through the same network pipes, providing efficient and comfortable heating while utilizing the existing infrastructure.
Together with a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), the system achieves excellent human comfort and eliminates the disturbance due to cold draft, high humidity and uneven temperature gradient.
